A Rest from the Diet

Posted on Saturday, April 7, 2007 at 08:31 by Registered CommenterMark Forster in | Comments5 Comments

I have decided to consolidate my diet as I’m finding that to lose weight I have to use too many rules. So what I am going to do for the rest of this month is keep the target weight at my present weight and allow my body to adjust to this weight. Hopefully by the time the month is up, I will need far less rules.

But what rules will you use to maintain your current weight?

Hi Mark

I was thinking....could it be that you're choosing the wrong kinds of foods to suit your metabolism? Maybe you could experiment with this.

Hi, Chutters
I will be using the diet completely unchanged with the one exception that I will not be reducing the target weight by a pound a week.

Hi, Learning As I Go
I have been experimenting with this ever since I was 30 (before that I stayed as thin as a rake whatever I ate). There are only two diets with which I have previously managed to lose a significant amount of weight. One is the Atkins diet, and the other is the Laurence Moorhouse diet which I describe in the article "Can I improve on the No S Diet?". However with neither of these was I able to keep the weight off once I had lost it.

Having now lost a stone (14 lbs) I'm consolidating the weight loss before going on to lose some further weight.

My main reason for consolidating the weight loss rather than continuing to reduce the target weight is that I want to be able to eat what I like when I go to Sicily at the end of this month!

Hi, Mark

Congrats on the 14 pounds and keeping the victory! I must admit that I'm quite envious of your Sicily trip and not only because of the food! I know you will come away with many fabulous memories! All of your senses (and you mind) will be exploding in rhapsody!
