Time Management
Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at 15:21 It’s never very long before the subject of David Allen’s “Getting Things Done” gets raised in discussion on this site. So it’s good news that, after a gap of many years, he has now written another book. I’ve just pre-ordered it from amazon.co.uk and I’ll be looking forward to reading it.
According to his website:
“Making It All Work” addresses: How to figure out where you are in life and what you need; How to be your own consultant and the CEO of your life; Moving from hope to trust in decision-making; When not to set goals; Harnessing intuition, spontaneity, and serendipity; And why life is like business and business is like life.
Thursday, May 29, 2008 at 18:12 Which would you like first? The good news or the bad news?
The good news is that Trafalgar (a US distribution company) will be distributing Do It Tomorrow this autumn and it will feature in their next catalogue. This means that it should be available in the States very soon.
The bad news is that the first print of How To Make Your Dreams Come True has sold out and it is not planned to reprint it. I intend to ask the publishers if they are willing to let the distribution rights revert to me so I can publish it as an e-book.
Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at 13:48 I’ve come to the conclusion that the amount of income generated by the ads on this site is hardly worth the effort of inserting them. So over the next few days I will be removing all advertisements on this site, apart from those for my own books, and returning the layout of the blog to multiple postings on the page.
Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at 11:58 Do pay a visit to my recently updated bookstore. It contains a great selection of the books which I have found most useful myself in my life and business, plus plenty of other recommended books in related fields.
Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at 08:25 As of this moment, Do It Tomorrow is ranking 203rd in the Amazon UK overall sales ranks and is 1st in the Time Management category. It is also 9th in the Self Help category. This is quite an improvement over the last time I reported on its ratings.
I’m really pleased to see that the book’s sales are beginning to rise, as my own personal feeling - and more importantly that of the 20 people who have given it five star reviews - is that it is one of the very best books out there on time management.
If you haven’t bought a copy of Do It Tomorrow yet, then why not do so?
And if you already have bought a copy, then why not come on one of my seminars for people who have read the book and want to take it further?
As of now, Do It Tomorrow has moved up to 125th place. Keep buying! :-)

Thursday, February 21, 2008 at 14:50 I’m pleased to see that Do It Tomorrow has advanced to 230th in the overall Amazon UK sales ranks, and is 16th in their Self Help category, and 3rd in their Time Management category. The two books leading it for Time Management are Ken Blanchard’s One Minute Manager (is that really a time management book?) and David Allen’s Getting Things Done. I don’t wish to knock David Allen’s book in the least because it’s the only time management book I recommend other than my own, but I don’t think I could have got going again with my business anything like as quickly with his system as with mine.
7th in the Time Management category is my own Get Everything Done and Still Have Time to Play. So I’m feeling quite well represented!

Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at 16:31 Do It Tomorrow now has no less than twenty reviews on Amazon.co.uk - all 5 star. I’ve no idea whether this is a record, but it seems pretty darned good to me. If I came across a book on Amazon with that proportion of positive reviews, I think I’d buy it whatever the subject was!

Monday, January 21, 2008 at 18:23 There’s a complimentary review of How to Make Your Dreams Come True on Jennifer George’s Lifemuncher blog.
Forster combines a comforting, down to earth, practical Englishness with a very American understanding of the value of self-interest and creativity
I’d not seen this blog before, but it’s full of useful tips and tricks for everyday productivity, written with some humour and a great deal of zest for living. Thank you, Jennifer!

Thursday, December 13, 2007 at 12:05 It was too good to last! The unbroken run of 16 five-star reviews on amazon.co.uk of my book “Do It Tomorrow” has been followed by a review that only gives it one star (the minimum).
Entitled “A Great Way to Get Sacked” the reviewer R. Lakey gives some trenchant criticisms of the book without, it appears, actually having bothered to read it - since all his (her?) points are fully covered in the book.
Amazon now allows comments on reviews, so I have pointed this out. And so can you, if you’ve read the book and can’t understand what he’s talking about. Of course if you agree with him you can say that too!
Amazon has now removed the review, since I had reported it as “defamatory”. They didn’t ask me why I thought it was defamatory, but I guess words like “idiotic” and “balmy” used by the reviewer probably made the case for me!
Also the book has now gained another 5-star positive review, making a straight run of 17 in total.
