I did this exercise recently: 1 page, 2 columns, "Failures", "Benefits". Painful but enlightening.
Looking at failures can be valuable. I have seen where things did not turn out as expected because of my actions - but it can need a lot of removing of emotional attachments. Seeing the lesson in these experiences and then deciding to apply that learning to future goals, bringing different results.
