David Hsieh, CEO of Zappos, processes his email essentially the same way that Mark Forster recommends in Do It Tomorrow:

I was surprised to see that he spends a full 3 hours every day clearing his inbox. And he does it first thing every day. This is one more piece of evidence that "don't start your day with email" is not necessarily good advice -- and that email is a very common way that "real work" gets done in today's world.

Wow!! I really like this. And the thing is, you could leverage some of Mark's techniques for processing. FV, FVP, 3T system could all be leveraged to process the email. The interesting thing is how the email becomes the todo list, so you could almost say it is not technically email.
